Healthcare in the United States can be surprisingly difficult to understand. A simple question such as “How much will a doctor visit cost?” can lead to very different answers depending on insurance, location, provider and the type of care required.
That problem inspired us to build Doctor-USA, an independent healthcare information platform designed to make common U.S. healthcare questions easier to understand.
Rather than creating another website filled only with health articles, the goal is to combine clear educational content with practical interactive tools.
From Information to Interactive Tools
One of the most interesting parts of building Doctor-USA has been moving beyond traditional articles.
The platform includes tools designed to help users explore questions such as:
- What might a doctor visit cost?
- How do medical bills and EOBs compare?
- How do different health insurance plans compare?
- What can affect the price of healthcare in the United States?
For example, the Doctor Visit Cost Estimator helps users explore typical costs based on their situation rather than relying on a single national number.

Why We Built It as a Custom Website
Doctor-USA is also an interesting project from a technology perspective.
Instead of relying solely on a traditional CMS setup, the current website was developed as a custom, performance-focused web project.
That gives us considerably more freedom to build interactive calculators, comparison tools and other utilities directly into the site.
Performance was another priority. In our recent mobile Lighthouse testing, the homepage achieved a 100 performance score, with a Largest Contentful Paint around 1.1 seconds in that particular test.
Lighthouse results can vary between tests, devices and network conditions.
Healthcare Information Needs Transparency
Healthcare is different from many of the technology topics we normally cover on Tech-Play.
Incorrect information can have real consequences.
For that reason, Doctor-USA is being built around transparent sourcing, editorial policies, methodology information and clear medical disclaimers.
The platform is intended to help people understand healthcare information, not diagnose conditions or replace physicians or other qualified healthcare professionals.
What’s Next for Doctor-USA?
The project is still evolving.
Future development will focus particularly on interactive healthcare-cost tools, clearer explanations of medical bills and insurance, and resources that help people understand what they may encounter when navigating the U.S. healthcare system.
The long-term idea is simple:
Make complicated U.S. healthcare information easier to understand and more useful.
If you’re interested in U.S. healthcare costs, insurance or the technology behind interactive healthcare tools, you can explore the project at:
The backlink strategy matters
I would not put 10 links to Doctor-USA into this article.
I’d use perhaps 2–3 highly contextual links:
Doctor-USA → homepage
Doctor Visit Cost Estimator → estimator
U.S. doctor visit costs → your strongest cost guide
And use natural anchors like those rather than:
best healthcare website USA cheap doctor costs 2026
Also, don’t present Tech-Play as an independent third party that “discovered” or “recommends” Doctor-USA if both are your projects. The “we built / we’re introducing our project” angle is much more transparent.
One caveat: because these are sites under the same ownership/control, I would treat this link primarily as useful cross-site discovery and topical context, not as a magic high-value independent backlink. The bigger SEO win will eventually come from unrelated third-party sites voluntarily linking to your tools/data.
For Tech-Play specifically, the technology/building-the-product angle is what makes this article fit naturally rather than looking like an SEO backlink post.
